EXAM SCHEDULE

SEMESTER I

January 23 – 27, 2012

Examinations (excluding ELPA) will be two hours in length, beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding at 11:00 AM. (All students are to be in their examination stations at 8:30 AM – all book returns and preparations are to be done at this time.) Students may leave at 10:30 if they are finished writing, but must go directly to the cafeteria or leave the school. Students who leave exam rooms at 10:30 may not be at their lockers or frequent any other part of the school until examinations are concluded at 11:00 AM.

ATTENDANCE

It is the student’s responsibility to observe the examination schedule and be present for examinations. Non-attendance will result in a mark of zero (0) being assigned to examinations.

NOTE:

1. Students, who are not writing an examination on a particular day, do not need to attend school.

2. Grade 11 and 12 students may leave without an excuse or signing out after the exam is completed.

3. Grade 9 and 10 students who wish to leave after finishing their exams must be picked up and signed out by a parent or provide a written excuse from their parents allowing them to leave with another parent/relative etc.

4. Students who do not leave must report to their regularly scheduled subject teachers in the afternoon unless they have made review arrangements with another teacher.

ILLNESS

Absence due to illness must be supported by a doctor’s note.

CHEATING

When it has been determined that a student was cheating on an examination, the student will be assigned a mark of zero (0) on that examination. (Teacher professional judgment and/or discretion shall prevail.)

DATES OF NOTE

In the event of a storm day during the exam period, the exam schedule shifts ahead one day. For example, if there is a storm day on Tuesday during the exam period, Tuesday’s exam would move to Wednesday, Wednesday’s to Thursday, etc. Friday’s exam would then be on MONDAY, January 30. This is called a “Turnaround Day” and should NOT be treated as a “day off” for High School students. If there is no need for exams that day High School students stay home, Middle level students have regular classes.

**There is no school for any students on January 30th.**
